Project:  Website - Mortality Rate
Class:  Information Systems Senior Project (67-475)
Date:  August 2007 - May 2008
Status:  Completed (2 semesters)
 
Description:  This was a team based project to design a system for calculating risk of death from various causes combining public data from both the United States CDC and European EuroStat, working with the Center for the Study & Improvement of Regulation.

I focused on debugging, performance efforts, and database design, with significant time spent programming some primary functions and graphs, as well as documentation.

Worked extensively with large MS SQL Server 2005 dataset as well as ASP.NET/C# and Adobe Flex Charting.

Project:  Website - Carnegie Mellon Groups and Organizations
Class:  Information Systems Junior Project (67-373)
Date:  January 1st, 2007 - May 10th, 2007
Status:  Completed (1 semester)
 
Description:  This was a team based project with six team members where we designed a web project from start to finish including all documentation, design, and implementation.  My team choose to do a Groups and Organizations website.

We used .NET ASP/C#, ASP, SQL Server, AJAX, MS Access, and Javascript and also integrated the open source softwares ProntoWiki and aspCalendar Free, heavily modifing them.

My roles including coding, documentation and bug fixing.

Project:  Report - Tuning the Information Systems Capstone Project at Carnegie Mellon & Singapore Managment University
Class:  Global Project Managment (67-326)
Date:  January 1st, 2007 - March 2nd, 2007
Status:  Completed (1/2 semester)
 
Description:  This was an international team based project with four team members (two from CMU and two from Singapore Managment University).  Our goal was to research ways in which to redesign the information systems senior capstone project course at both CMU and SMU into one international course.

We not only redisigned the curriculm but also researched best methods for international team building and collaboration. We were able to test many of these methods ourselves as a long distance international team.

Project:  Report - Market Research Report for Nomad Networks
Class:  Technology Entrepreneurship (88-390)
Date:  August 29th, 2006 - December 12th, 2006
Status:  Completed (1 semester)
 
Description:  This report was part of a three person team project.  The report examines current market opportunities for IP camera technology nationally and locally and how a startup company should best position itself in relation to current companies and competitors. 

It was done on the behalf of Nomad Networks, a local security equipment provider in Pittsburgh and focused on the office and warehouse market.  The full report is 39 pages.

Project:  Report - Faculty Course Evaluation System Effectiveness
Class:  Decision Analysis and Decision Support Systems (88-223)
Date:  January 1st, 2006 - May 5th, 2006
Status:  Completed (1 semester)
 
Description:  This report was part of a three person team project.  The report compares the effectiveness level and general response of the student and faculty body at CMU to the online Faculty Course Evaluation as compared to the older paper based system. 

The report uses thousands of data points that include response rates, student satisfication with a class, teacher ratings, and more to generate a clear conclusion about the effectiveness of the online system.
